At Barn Studio Signs we make beautiful, handcrafted, bespoke, reclaimed wooden signs for your home, garden and life's special events, from our 250 year old Barn in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
Each piece of wood is different and shows it's own knotty, grainy characteristics. This gives a naturally rustic look to our signs. The slight imperfections add character and warmth. We hand paint each piece using eco-friendly paints. The black lettering is beautifully applied using top quality artists' acrylic paint, no stencils are ever used! The lettering is painted onto our traditional faded antique cream. You can also choose from three other classic colours: Duck Egg Blue, Box Tree Green or Pale Rose Pink. Each sign is then gently distressed for that vintage appeal. Finally, a clear matt interior varnish is added for its protection.
These vintage style signs are lovely either as they are or with a rusted wire hanging. You may wish to order one with a favourite song lyric or memorable quote. They are perfect to hang on your shed, in any room in the house or to direct your special guests at your wedding. You are only limited by the size of your imagination!
Our signs are made in three approximate sizes; 12-16" x 4-5" (Small), 18" x 5-6" (Medium), and 22" x 5-6" (Large). The number of capital letters on 12-16" = 10 (including spaces), 12 characters for 18" (per line) and 14 characters for 22" (per line). Wood over 5" can allow for 2 lines of lettering. We can allow for a few more letters per size if lower-case letters are required.
When ordering your bespoke sign please indicate on the order requirement form whether you want caps or lower case letters. Please also indicate on there if you want a rusted wire hanging (£1.00 extra) and if external varnish is required (at no extra cost). Signs are finished with a clear matt interior varnish unless otherwise stated.
Your sign will be deliciously gift wrapped for you at no extra charge and a personalised gift tag can be also be added.
Our signs will be despatched within 10-14 days from receipt of payment. However, if you have a special date in mind, we will do our best to fulfil your order by that date. Each sign is made to order and so may vary from images shown in our gallery.
